For more than 30 years, barbara bui dresses the woman we aspire to be, that is confident in leather trousers, in a biker jacket or in a white shirt that falls perfectly. for the opening of her third boutique in paris, she notices changes in the world of luxury.interview with barbara bui : we are a label whose products are not widely produced and distributed, therefore in a way, some pieces appear to be artisanal.(voiced)are you an engaged designer?i’m doing it quite subconsciously. i always wanted to mix genders and speak about female paradoxes. like between masculinity and femininity, between what we call rock and what is completely perennial, which can be chic and good quality. it is with this mix that i want to express all the facettes of women.what is your definition of luxury?luxury demands the best quality and incredible cuts, not fashion for the sake of fashion or that goes out of fashion. instead, things that have strong silhouettes, strong messages, but at the same time that can go through time and not become futile.what is the fashion of tomorrow?i think that fashion will need to take a more refined path so that it can be more coherent. in fact, so it is more about usefulness and about the pleasure of getting dressed.
