Yours Clothing opens first standalone in Germany

Fast-growing UK plus-size retailer Yours Clothing is to open its first standalone store in Germany on September 1, in the Thier-Galerie shopping mall, in the heart of the city centre of Dortmund.

 
It will be the brand’s first store in mainland Europe following the successful launch of a German language e-commerce website in May last year. The Dortmund store covers around 1,500 sq ft of trading space and creates eight new jobs.

It stocks a full range of womenswear in sizes 16-36 (EU 44-64), including lingerie, footwear and accessories. 

To celebrate its opening, the company has enlisted plus-size influencers @elabonella, @marenkiss and @infatstyle, among others, to host its launch event and share style inspiration and techniques with shoppers.

Yours has been riding the wave of the expanding plus-size market in Britain as well as abroad and it now has 145 stores in its domestic and overseas markets. They helped its revenues rise 22% to £88.3 million from £72.1 million in its latest financial year. Within that figure, international sales surged by 48% so there’s clearly major potential outside of the UK.

Yours is actively seeking to open additional stores in Germany and across Europe, as part of its ambitious international growth plans.
