Shiseido appoints Jill Scalamandre as Bare Escentuals boss

Shiseido Americas, the U.S. subsidiary of the Japanese cosmetic group, has named Jill Scalamandre president of Bare Escentuals Beauty Inc., which operates make-up brands BareMinerals and Buxom.

Remaining in her position at the head of Shiseido's Makeup Centre of Excellence (MCOE), Scalamandre will continue to report to Marc Rey, president and managing director of Shiseido Americas.

Scalamandre will thus see her scope of responsibilities grow in relation to her former role as president of global marketing for BareMinerals and Buxom.

In her new post, she succeeds Susan Jurevics and will look to strengthen the brands' international footprint, with special attention given to multi-brand retail networks and client engagement. 

Before coming to Shiseido in 2016, Scalamandre worked at Coty, as marketing director of skincare.
