Gucci has launched Vault Summer. The Italian luxury label will be unveiling the first collection by its new creative director Sabato De Sarno in September, and in the meantime it continues to experiment with the Vault concept store. Last winter, the Vault site showcased a first collective collection called Gucci Continuum, developed with a dozen external designers and labels, and a new iteration has just been dropped for Spring/Summer 2023, featuring eight collaborations.

The Kering group’s star label has tapped seven new names for this Vault project, plus US sneaker brand Vans, which collaborated with Gucci last winter and is back for a second season. Among the new names, two French labels, Parisian tailoring brand Husbands and long-established milliner Maison Michel, alongside various US and Colombian designers.

Husbands Paris was founded in 2012 by Nicolas Gabard, a former lawyer who switched over to fashion. The label draws its inspiration from the looks of iconic male movie stars, reinterpreting the codes of menswear in its own quirky way. Over the years, this understated label has made a name for itself as a quality tailor on the Parisian scene. For Vault, Husbands has created a series of suits, jackets, trench coats and loose trousers with a 1970s and 80s Parisian vibe.

Maison Michel, a renowned milliner that is part of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art stable, has designed a series of fun, colourful hats, priced between €990 and €1,200.

Vault’s Summer collection for women and men features all the elements of a complete wardrobe besides suits and hats. It includes swimsuits and dresses embroidered by Colombian artisans, designed by Colombian label Agua by Agua Bendita, rugby-style jerseys and wool blazers by US label Rowing Blazers, as well as a series of knitwear items by US designer Connor McKnight.

Two looks by Husbands Paris - Gucci Vault

In terms of accessories, Gucci Vault has again opted for labels hailing from the USA, with clutch bags by Judith Leiber Couture and jewellery by New York brand Prounis Jewelry. Plus of course Vans, which has created a new version of its famous canvas sneakers in a colourful Gucci style.

These exclusive, limited-edition capsule collections are available exclusively on the Vault e-shop, accessible on gucci.com. Prices range from €195 for a rugby-style top to over €6,000 for a handmade clutch set with crystals.

The Vault Summer collection was recently launched with a campaign set on an Italian lake. The looks have been lensed by German photographer Max Siedentopf, mixing Hollywood-style glamour and a Dolce Vita vibe with a touch of surreal humour.
