Fenty debuts Amina Muaddi shoe collaboration

After months of anticipation, Fenty – Rihanna's luxury fashion brand under LVMH – and footwear designer Amina Muaddi have dropped their first collaborative footwear collection. 

The footwear capsule features four designs, including the 'Caged In', a strappy leather sandal available in deep pink and white; the 'Code Word', a square-toed, acid-green sandal with a PVC support strap; the 'Braid Me Up', another strappy sandal in warm brown featuring crystal-adorned straps; and a mesh mule aptly named 'Meshy Mules', available in black and nude. Each of the designs features a new, reverse-stiletto heel, inspired by the shape of a steel nail, according to industry reports. 

The limited-edition footwear release marks the third and final drop of Fenty's summer collection, which began being released in June. Prices range from $470 for the Meshy Mule to $820 for the Braid Me Up sandal.  

The Fenty x Amina Muaddi collection is available now on Fenty.com. The footwear will also become available on July 22 through Farfetch, along with the Fenty 'Release 6-20' apparel drop. Fenty's launch at Farfetch comes as part of a new deal between the e-tailer and Fenty, which will make Farfetch the only retailer to carry Fenty pieces outside of Fenty.com. 

"It's been an immense pleasure developing this shoe drop for @fenty & @badgalriri! I hope you like it as much as we do!" Muaddi wrote on Instagram.

"A special thank you to @illjahjah for coping with us," she wrote, shouting out Jaheel Weaver, Rihanna's stylist, the deputy creative director of Fenty, and the individual credited with introducing Muaddi to Rihanna. 

Muaddi, whose eponymous footwear has been worn regularly by Rihanna, was first tapped to design footwear for Fenty in December 2019, after her footwear was featured in Savage x Fenty's fashion show during New York Fashion Week in September.
