Condé Nast UK to leave Vogue House after 65 years

British Vogue’s long and storied association with London’s West End is coming to an end. After six decades+ (since 1958), publishing giant Condé Nast is moving out of its historic Vogue House officers on Hanover Square. It’s relocating to Thamesside at the equally historic Adelphi building on the Embankment, scheduled for January 2024.

An e-mail to staff, seen by various publications, said: “There’s no other way to say it – leaving our iconic Vogue House will be hard. After many attempts to find a way to expand and redesign the space to meet our needs, there were just too many challenges to be able to do so”.

The seven-storey building, which is also home to GQ and Tatler, had become synonymous with the fashion industry and a tourist destination for international fashion followers.

Former chairman Nicholas Coleridge said: “It is like the ravens leaving the Tower of London or the apes leaving the Rock of Gibraltar.”

The move follows the news that Vogue is to cut its print issues to 10 a year. Its most recent edition is entitled the ‘winter’ issue.

Privately owned, the company revealed last February that it had generated £1.6bn in revenue in the previous 12 months.
