The CFDA and Vogue on Monday announced the winners of the 2016 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Kristopher Brock and Laura Vassar Brock of Brock Collection were named the winners while designer Adam Selman and Krewe du Optic’s Stirling Barrett were named the runners-up.

The winning Brock Collection designers were awarded $400,000 while the runners-up each received $150,000. The monetary prizes are intended to enable the designers to pursue their design plans. In addition, the winners will meet regularly with an assigned business mentor.

Brock Collection, Adam Selman and Krewe du Optic emerged as winners over finalists Area, Chloe Gosselin, Ji Oh, Morgan Lane, Newbark, Rochambeau and Stampd.

Founded in 2013, Brock Collection is a women’s luxury fashion label inspired by the desire to reinterpret wearable clothing and create luxury clothing that you can live in. Vassar and Brock met at Parsons School of Design where they both studied fashion design. Kris Brock, who began sewing at the age of six, worked as a runway show tailor for  Calvin Klein, Diane von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, and Band of Outsiders. Brock’s significant other and co-founder, Vassar served as Design Assistant at Theyskens’ Theory before focusing entirely on fashion and celebrity styling.

Brock Collection is currently stocked online and at over 20 global retailers including Barneys New York, Jeffrey, Maxfield, Moda Operandi, Matches Fashion, Gago, The Apartment by The Line, and The Webster.

The New York City-based brand joins the likes of past CVFF winners Public School, Billy Reid, Paul Andrew, Altuzarra, The Elder Statesman, and 2015 winners Brother Vellies, Gypsy Sport and Jonathan Simkhai
