Blanca Padilla: the Spanish model walking the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

More than 50 top models will soon be jetting off to Shanghai, China, for the eagerly awaited Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, broadcast on US TV network CBS, November 28. Seductive lingerie, spectacular stage attire and the brand's signature angel wings await some of the world's most beautiful women for a fashion show that oozes glamour and seduction.

Blanca Padilla, a Spanish model who's just 22 years old, is one of the names picked to star in this year's show. So who is she?

Like many models, Blanca Padilla was spotted in the street -- in the Madrid metro, to be precise. This budding talent was then signed to Next Model Management, one of the world's biggest modeling agencies (Alexa Chung, Isabeli Fontana, Lineisy Montero, Arizona Muse). The 1.8m (5'9) brunette soon became hot property in the world of fashion, and her career has taken off in a big way since 2014.

Blanca Padilla isn't (yet) up there with the most popular models on social media. Currently, she doesn't have a Twitter account, but has some 443,000 followers on Instagram (@blaancapadilla) and just over 106,000 followers on Facebook (@OfficialBlancaPadilla) -- making around 549,000 followers in total. In comparison, social media star Kendall Jenner -- the most-followed model online -- totals more than 125 million. That said, the only way is up for the Spanish beauty, who is one of the models currently in vogue on social networks.

Highly in demand among labels and designers, Blanca Padilla had a marathon spring/summer 2018 season, walking some 15 runway shows, including a closing appearance (Ralph & Russo). The bronzed brunette was signed up by the likes of Elie Saab, Balmain, Ralph Lauren, Marchesa and Etro. Blanca Padilla also bagged a contract with Givenchy Beauty, for which she fronts the fall 2017 campaign.

The 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show won't be the first time the model has walked the runway for the lingerie brand. In fact, Blanca Padilla starred in the 2014 edition of this spectacular fashion show, held in London, UK. Since then, the Spanish model hadn't been picked again to star in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show until last August, when the model announced that she would be starring in the 2017 edition. "I can officially announce that I am walking the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show again," said Blanca Padilla.
