Toms appoints John Whitledge as Creative Director

Toms on Tuesday announced the appointment of John Whitledge as Creative Director. The Trovata co-founder is tasked with enhancing the label’s mens footwear offering, and his first collection for the brand will launch in the spring.

Whitledge has worked with Toms in the past, having designed the brand’s debut eyewear collection that launched in 2011.
 
Prior to the partnership, Whitledge co-founded Trovata in 2002 with college buddies Josia Lamberto-Egan and Shipley & Halmos founders Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos. Trovata won numerous awards throughout its life span, including the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2005.

Whitledge is among several designers and brands that have worked with Toms, including Prabal Gurung, & Other Stories and The Hill-Side.
