Satirical fashion illustrator Angelica Hicks releases her first book

Instagram sensation Angelica Hicks has released her first book which includes a compilation of some of her best satirical illustrations of fashion influencers and brands from around the world. 

Illustrator Angelica Hicks has 31.3k enthusiastic followers on her Instagram feed (@angelicahicks) where she shares numerous satirical illustrations of fashion brands and movers and shakers within the industry. Along with social media, Hicks’ work has graced the pages of magazines like Elle and Harper's Bazaar, capturing the attention of influencers and fashion brands worldwide. Now, the 24-year-old artist is giving enthusiasts a chance to peruse her work the old-fashioned way: via a book. Her coffee table read entitled “Tongue and Chic” will be released by Laurence King Publishing on April 25.

While the talented young artist currently resides in New York City, she’s originally from London and garners a royal pedigree—her father is the second cousin of Charles, Prince of Wales. The fashion influence in her work likely comes from her mother, a designer and influencer on the London scene.

Hicks received her first big break in the midst of her senior year at University College of London when was asked to illustrate place cards for a dinner celebrating Pal Zileri, an Italian menswear line. Soon after, Hicks received numerous opportunities, to include drawing invitations for a Tory Burch party in London and becoming the official illustrator at Mr. Porter magazine published by Net-a-Porter. Hicks is now a regular fixture at various runway shows where she sketches the latest collections. She also gained attention when Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid regrammed one of her drawings following the announcement that the duo would walk in the Victoria’s Secret show.

“Tongue and Chic” begins with an introduction by American Vogue’s Hamish Bowles and is grouped into six witty categories including Fashion Weak and High-powered Hybrids. The book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for $10.39.
