Narciso Rodriguez launches 20th anniversary capsule

Narciso Rodriguez is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his label with a 9-piece capsule collection pulling from the designer's archives from 2003 through 2013. The collection launches exclusively at Barneys New York.


The collection picks out key looks from the designer's career - Narciso Rodriguez


The anniversary collection highlights key looks that chronicle the designer's career making structured feminine pieces that are simple yet flattering. Dresses are shown from Spring and Fall 2003, Fall 2006, Spring and Fall 2008, custom 2008, Spring 2011 and Fall 2013.

The collection is designed to celebrate iconic Narciso Rodriguez looks through the years. One of his most notable looks was the bias cut wedding dress worn by Carolyn Bessette in 1996 when she married John F. Kennedy, Jr.

The capsule traces designs developed throughout Rodriguez' professional history from being a student at Parson's School of Design to working under Donna Karan at Anne Klein. He then moved on to the women's collection at Calvin Klein.

In 1995, Rodriguez became the Design Director of TSE and also for Cerruti in Paris. He first showed his namesake label in Milan in 1997, and in 1998 he was appointed as Design Director for Loewe.

In 2001, Rodriguez opened his own atelier in New York. He was the first designer ever to receive consecutive Womenswear Designer of the Year awards from the CFDA.

Rodriguez's career blazed ahead in 2005 when Time Magazine named him on its list of  "25 Most Influential Hispanics in America" and in 2007 he received the Fashion Icon Award from Pratt Institute. He was most recently awarded the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian National Design Award for fashion in 2014. 

He has dressed an extensive list of celebrity clients ranging from actresses to former First Lady Michelle Obama. He currently collaborates on costume design for film and television.

The 20th anniversary capsule collection was designed in exclusive partnership with Barneys New York. Price points range from approximately $2,000 to $3,500. It is available both online and at select Barneys store locations.
