Mapic recognizes Westfield WTC NY, Il Centro and Les Docks Villages as top mall projects

The commercial real estate trade show held in Cannes, France, from 16th to 18th November, has bestowed 16 MAPIC Awards to developers, retailers and industry personalities.

The Jury's Special Prize was awarded to the Westfield World Trade Center in New York. Singapore's Jewel Changi Airport was recognised as the best shopping mall of the future, Milan's Il Centro as the best new shopping mall, Marseilles' Les Docks Village as the best urban retail project and the Outlet Village Belaya Dacha in Moscow as the best brand village. The prize for the best shopping mall renovation went to Wuhan's Mall City in China.
 
On the retailers’ side, US brand Tesla was voted Retailer of the Year, and Dutch label Rituals was recognised as best international retail development. The prize for best new concept went to French retailer Zing Pop Culture, and that for the best store design to Mexican department store El Palacio de Hierro. The prize for the top retailtainment concept was awarded to Samsung 837, while the best O2O strategy was that of Spanish retailer Neinver. As best pop-up shop, the jury selected London's 24 Hour Ejder Club.

The jury awarded the prize for Personality of the Year to Marc Coguet, founder and President of the Fédération Procos, the French federation for urban planning and the development of specialised retail. A special prize to the career was awarded also to Michel Pazoumian, Executive Director of Procos. Laurent Milchior, President of the Etam group, attended the event to receive a prize celebrating the group's "100 years of success and innovation."
