Lonchamp has selected Fifth Avenue, number 645 between Furla and Versace, to bow its New York flagship store. Open to the public from May 3, the flagship takes the French brand's store count to 300, following a recent store opening in Tokyo last October.

In New York, while the brand prepares for its pre-launch one day before opening to the public, Lonchamp called upon Paris artist Remed to recreate his artwork L’Eau delà – Emoi, serving street hallmark since November 9, while construction works were taking place.

Hidden behind the art, according to the US press, is close to 370-square-metres of space, awaiting shoppers before its official opening; an event that coincides with Longchamp's 70th birthday.

Founded by Jean Cassegrain in 1948, the Parisian brand looks to increase in the US with the new boutique, backing up its collaboration with American designer Shayne Oliver, which will be available for purchase on May 4, one day after the New York store launch. By the end of 2018, Longchamp looks to enter California, with its first Los Angeles store.
