G-Shock and Robert Geller partner on first G-Steel watch

G-Shock and designer Robert Geller take their partnership to the next level with the launch of their first collaboration and first-ever collaboration for the G-Steel line, the GST200RBG-1.

 
The watch brand and the German designer have partnered on five consecutive runway presentations at New York Fashion Week. The new collaboration watch is the first joint design between G-Shock and the New York City-based menswear designer.
 
"I have been working with G-Shock for several years, and was very pleased when we decided to create a watch together,” said Geller. “I wore a G-Shock watch throughout my teenage years, so it is really exciting to be able to make my own, more grown up version."

Specially designed by Geller himself, the GST200RBG-1 features a black ion plated stainless steel metal band, case and buttons, with gold accents on the face and a dark fuchsia second hand that references Geller’s fall 2017 collection. The GST200RBG-1 is inspired by urban elements in Tokyo, particularly both brands’ histories with the city and Geller’s own experiences in the city.

The collaboration watch, which is part of the G-Steel line for active gentlemen, also features a layered guard structure to absorb maximum impact, 200M water resistance, a stopwatch, countdown timer, five alarms and an illuminator LED light.
 
"My favorite time in Tokyo is walking through the city in the middle of the night, when it is impossible to sleep because of the jet lag," said Geller. "The lights, smells and sounds are really magical and I wanted this watch to reflect that magic. For the past ten years, I have been producing my ready to wear collection in Japan because I love the quality and care of Japanese craftsmanship. G-Shock shares this same love, which is why this collaboration is a natural fit for us."
 
The GST200RBG-1 will retail for $420 beginning in July and will be available at G-Shock in SoHo, the G-Shock website and select Macy’s, jewelers and fashion apparel stores.
