Chloé: Creative Director Clare Waight Keller leaves

Chloé has issued a press release announcing Clare Waight Keller is leaving the women's label "by mutual agreement." The British designer has been in charge of style at the Richemont group's French label since May 2011. She will present her last collection, for the Autumn/Winter 2017-18, on 2nd March in Paris - the runway show will be followed by a big party - and will step down on 31st March.

Clare Waight Keller has written "a new chapter" in the history of Chloé, "following in the footsteps of designer greats Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Phoebe Philo", said the label in the press release, underlining how "since Clare took charge at Chloé, the fashion label has enjoyed remarkable growth and a worldwide expansion."
 
The designer has apparently decided not to renew her contract, set to expire in March, in order to rejoin her family living in London.

According to the rumours of the past few weeks, Natacha Ramsay-Levi is presumably going to succeed Waight Keller. For 14 years Ramsay-Levi has been very close to Nicolas Ghesquière, with whom she worked first at Balenciaga and then at Louis Vuitton, where she is currently in charge of design.
 
For the time being however, Chloé has not disclosed who Clare Waight Keller's successor will be.
