Beyond Beauty Paris moves site in Paris

From the 13th to 16th September 2009, the Beyond Beauty Paris trade show will be present at the Porte de Versailles, Paris. This is a first for the organisers, who are seeing this move in a good light. Though the formula has been refined each year, the principal has remained the same: three professional trade shows with three different targets: cosmetics brands, the spa sector and suppliers.

Cosmeeting

Not returning to the exhibition hall in Villepinte, there will now be a space of 20,000 m² waiting for exhibitors and visitors at Porte de Versailles in September. For David Bondi, president of the company Itec that has organised the event, “the change of venue has given us a breath of fresh air, above all in these difficult times. It is certain that the beauty market has not been spared any more than the other by the crisis and brands need air more than ever, and visibility.”

There will be close to 500 this year coming to install a stand, fewer than the previous edition but between then and now the economic context has changed. And against all expectations, Beyond Beauty Paris is trying to hold its own. As mentioned beforehand the organizers have refined the concept of the show each year; this year there was no question of retreating in the face of the crisis. “Brands need to meet each other, to exchange offers”, explained David Bondi. “That means this time to anticipate the upturn and to stick to the expectations of the market.” Along these lines, the coming edition of the tradeshow has been announced as pay-for-entry.

The main exhibition space, the Cosmeeting trade show, is dedicated to brands stating its vocation as a “revealer of trends. Buyers come to find new items,” continued the president. “Small brands observe the big, which come to dig out new ideas.” Again this year, actors from the European forum of organic and natural cosmetics will be present. Another sign of the times, the Beyond Zoom space has been reserved for niche brands only, creating a passage for innovation.

The Spa rendezvous will also be taking on new dimensions. Satisfied by the first version in 2008, 75 brands have indicated they will be present in 2009, from suppliers to cosmetics brands - Decléor, Payot and Clarins at the head of the pack. The hotel sector is also expected to be widely represented, seeing as at present it is performing the best in the market. On the periphery of the salon the European Spa Summit will be held. Moreover, on the 13th and 14th of September multiple conferences on matters pertaining to the sector will be held discussing matters and suggestions in regard to design, management, profitability and development.

Finally, the hotly anticipated Creative trade show, which is dedicated to the suppliers of the beauty industry. Instead of competition and innovation it will regroup a number of actors from packaging, from manufacturing, subcontracting, machinery and ingredients. Previous editions presented the opportunity to cross paths with most of the heavyweights of beauty, but years have passed and it is starting to look a little different. The organisers will be fully relying on the big players presence this time in order that, “the industry does not lose sight of the stakes for innovation and product development.”
